Norton and all the products sold by Gen Digital, the parent company of Norton, are nonsense and you are basically spending money on adware and dumb products that do nothing but force you to buy their useless products at an enormous price. (Their products are Avira, AVG, Norton, Avast, CCleaner, Recuva, Speccy, Defraggler)
Review of Softonic.com
Avoid this site. I downloaded a free software through Softonic; although I unchecked the installation of bloatware, scareware and adware, I was surprised that, along with the downloaded software, 12 more registry cleaners, codecs, browser search bars and other crap were installed.
Removing this bloatware, scareware and adware was a frustrating process that took at least 2 hours to remove all the installed crap!
Go directly to the developer's website - do not use Softonic!
